This is looking north west over Blackwattle Bay from Glebe. It’s my favourite view of White Bay power station so I have painted it a few times (based on a small study View of Blackwattle Bay in 2008). There’s something about the huge structure with the water foreground that makes
the image really strong (to me). Early morning tranquility or an eerie abandoned landscape? Either way due to the construction of a boat storage facility across the bay, this view has gone forever. Original painting : Private collection UK.
